Misanet.com / The Chronicle (Malawi) - Malawi's independent weekly, 'The Chronicle', has documented the course of the country's most important parliamentary vote since the introduction of democracy in 1994. On 4 July, a constitutional amendment that could have resulted in President Bakili Muluzi's life presidency was narrowly defeated. Also many opposition members had voted in favour of the amandment.
